HOERBIGER ::

Valve materials

The right material for each application

  • excellent impact resistance
  • applicable for varying operating conditions
  • good chemical resistance

Standard or critical applications: Choosing the right material is just as important as proper design and engineering. For decades,
HOERBIGER has conducted intensive research in the field of materials, and particularly non-metallics.

Our efforts show results. HOERBIGER valves have outstanding quality, long service life and high impact resistance; important qualities that have convinced our customers for years.

Materials with glass fibre for plate valves

MT

standard material
high impact resistance, especially suited for applications where high stress occurs

PK

highest temperature resistance
used for high temperatures and applications where chemical resistance is required

Materials with carbon fibre for ring valves

MC

for light gas applications
very impact tolerating and proven specially in light gas applications

PC

extremely high temperature resistance
for extreme applications with medium and heavy gases

Fluorpolymer, reinforced with carbon fibres for both plate and ring valves

HP

HOERBIGER HP "High Performance"

Thanks to its outstanding qualities this material considerably prolongs the lifespan of compressor valves in even the most demanding applications.

Which non-metallic material for which application?

For special gas compositions or highly aggressive gases (e.g. chlorine, oxygen, etc.) the material has to be selected according to the application
